An excellent exhibition on C. Caratheodory at the Tsitsanis Museum in Trikala

At the Tsitsanis Museum, the Trikala branch of the Hellenic Mathematical Society in collaboration with the Caratheodory Museum, showcase elements of the Museum’s permanent exhibition. This exhibition was the occasion for the official start of the celebrations for 2018, as the year of mathematics in Trikala.

On Sunday morning, 25 February 2018, at the opening of the exhibition, the crowd was large, as the members of the HMS in Trikala honoured the great Greek mathematician, Constantin Caratheodory. At the same time, they honoured prize-winning students in competitions (mathematics and painting on the theme of mathematics).

The Mayor of Trikala, Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, did not hide his love for mathematics, comparing the greatest Greek composer, Vassilis Tsitsanis, with the world renowned mathematician C. Caratheodory, in terms of direct creation and critical thinking skills. He urged everyone to remember the great successes of the prefecture in terms of the Olympiads and world distinctions in mathematics, pointing out the importance of the coupling of love and hard work for Science.
