Searching for the “traces” of Caratheodory in Poland

The President of the Caratheodory’s Friends Association, Athanasios Lipordezis, and the scientific advisor of the Association, Nikos Lygeros, visited the University of Breslau (now Wroclaw) in Poland, as part of their ongoing research for evidence of the life and scientific work of Constantin Caratheodory.

 

The Mathematical Department was founded by the great Greek mathematician. An inscription can be seen, prominently positioned at the University, which reads “World-famous Greek mathematician, professor and founder of the chair of mathematics at the Technical University of Breslau, 1910-13”.
