Constantin Caratheodory, the great Greek scholar

The last interview of Albert Einstein <A great teacher to me was the unforgettable Greek>.

 

Gentlemen, you asked me to give answers to a billion questions, but nobody wanted to know who my teacher was, who guided me and led the way to higher mathematical science and research for me. And so as not to bore you, I will simply tell you, without a good many details, that my great teacher was the unsurpassed Greek Constantin Caratheodory, to whom I personally, as well as mathematical science, physics, the wisdom of our century, owe everything.

This is what Albert Einstein said in his last press conference in 1955 about the Greek scholar.
